Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Science and Research (JSR) are expected to comply with the following writing requirements to ensure consistency, clarity, and academic quality of the journal:

1. MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

  • File Type: Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Word Count: The length of the manuscript is between 5,000–7,000 words, excluding references and appendices.

  • Typography: Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Page Layout: Standard margins of 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left, right).

  • Visuals: Tables, figures, and appendices should be placed close to the point of reference in the text and numbered consecutively.

2. ARTICLE STRUCTURE Manuscripts should follow the structure below:

  • Title: Concise, specific, and informative (maximum 15 words), written in sentence case.

  • Abstract: Written in both Indonesian and English (150–250 words each), summarizing research objectives, methods, findings, and implications.

  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords, listed alphabetically, separated by commas.

  • Introduction: Outlines research background, problem formulation, objectives, theoretical framework, and research significance.

  • Methods: Describes research design, participants or data sources, instruments, and procedures used for analysis.

  • Results and Discussion: Presents findings clearly and discusses their implications in relation to existing theories or previous research.

  • Conclusion: Provides a summary of main findings, contributions, and possible recommendations.

  • Acknowledgements (Optional): Acknowledges individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that supported the research.

  • References: Must be complete, up-to-date, and formatted according to APA style (7th edition).

3. CITATION STYLE

  • Standard: JSR adopts the APA (American Psychological Association) Style, 7th edition.

  • Management Tools: Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to maintain accuracy and consistency.

  • Accuracy: In-text citations and reference lists must strictly adhere to APA formatting guidelines.

4. LANGUAGE

  • Options: Manuscripts may be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.

  • Quality: Authors must ensure correct grammar, clarity, and academic style. For English manuscripts, professional proofreading is highly recommended.

5. ORIGINALITY AND ETHICS

  • Exclusivity: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism Check: All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software.

  • Similarity Index: The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

  • Responsibility: Authors are fully responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of their work.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Science and Research (JSR), authors must ensure that all of the following requirements have been fulfilled. Manuscripts that do not comply with ini standards may be returned to the authors for correction before being sent to the peer review process.

1. ORIGINALITY OF MANUSCRIPT The manuscript is the author’s original work, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration for publication in another journal or medium, either in print or electronic form.

2. SCOPE RELEVANCE The article aligns with the aims and scope of Journal of Science and Research (JSR), covering:

  • Sciences and Technology

  • Health and Environmental Sciences

  • Social Sciences and Humanities

  • Economics and Business

  • Islamic Studies relevant to contemporary academic development

3. PUBLICATION ETHICS COMPLIANCE

  • Integrity: The manuscript is free from plagiarism, data manipulation, and research misconduct.

  • Ethics: For studies involving humans, animals, or sensitive data, ethical approval (ethical clearance) has been obtained from the relevant institution.

4. ARTICLE FORMATTING The manuscript follows the official JSR template, consisting of:

  • Title

  • Abstract (both in Indonesian and English)

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (optional)

  • Methodology

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

5. CITATIONS AND REFERENCES All citations and references are consistently formatted according to the APA 7th edition referencing style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

6. LANGUAGE AND STYLE The manuscript is written in proper academic Indonesian or academic English, using a formal style, clarity, and is free of grammatical errors.

7. MANUSCRIPT FILE FORMAT

  • File Type: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Specifications: A4 paper size, Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, and standard margins.

8. FIGURES, TABLES, AND ILLUSTRATIONS All tables, figures, or illustrations are clearly numbered, titled, and captioned, and are integrated into the text.

9. COPYRIGHT STATEMENT Authors agree to transfer the copyright of accepted articles to CJSR, under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license.
